“National Trust grants $2,500 to Bush Childhood Home”
The 1949-founded National
Trust for Historic Preservation has granted $2,500 to the George
W. Bush Childhood Home Inc. in Midland for consulting
fees toward restoration of the Bush family home at 1412 W. Ohio Ave.
“Most significant to our project is the endorsement and support of
the National Trust for Historic Preservation,” said Bill Scott,
president of the George W. Bush Childhood Home Inc. The endorsement
contributes “a certain amount of gravity or weight to the project,” Scott
said. “It will help us with our “fund-raising” via
grants from foundations and other causes, including the Texas Historical
Commission, and from individual and corporate donors.
