The George W. Bush 1950s boyhood Homeplace in Midland is destined to enter the public domain, to be restored, and deemed the “presidential home” of two future United States presidents – George H.W. Bush and his son.

“We have a lot of research ahead of us,” Jana Tucker, president of the 233-member Permian Basin Board of Realtors (PBBR), said on Monday. The PBBR has announced that its membership unanimously had approved purchase of the 1940-built, 1,492-square-foot pier-and-beam house with the bay window and fireplace at 1412 W. Ohio Ave. “We are just thrilled about the project,” which is “a great project for Realtors,” she said. “We feel like we will have a lot of support from the community.”
